Editorial Policy

Purpose

This policy explains how RedoOne News selects, reports, edits, and publishes stories. It sets the standards our team follows every day. Readers should know what to expect from our work and how to hold us accountable.

Our mission

We help readers make sense of entertainment and gaming. Speed matters, but accuracy comes first. We aim for clear writing, careful context, and coverage that respects your time.

Ownership and independence

RedoOne News is owned and operated by RedoOne News Media. Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom. Business teams cannot overrule or influence coverage. Sponsored work is labeled at the top of the page and is produced under separate rules that keep it distinct from our journalism.

How we choose stories

Editors look for relevance, public interest, and originality. We prefer primary material such as official statements, filings, developer posts, screeners, and direct interviews. When we use secondary sources, we verify with additional evidence before publication.

Reporting standards

Reporters identify themselves and state their purpose during interviews. Quotes are used faithfully and in context. Numbers, dates, names, and spellings are checked against reliable records. We avoid anonymous sources unless the information is important, cannot be obtained on the record, and the source may face a real risk if identified. Editors know the identity of every anonymous source used.

Fact checking

Every story is reviewed by an editor before publication. The review includes verification of key claims, links to supporting material inside our systems, and a cross check of names, dates, figures, images, and captions. Complex pieces may receive a second read focused only on accuracy and logic.

Corrections and updates

If we publish an error, we correct it quickly. Minor fixes such as a typo may be made without a note. Substantive changes carry an update note that explains what changed and why. Readers can request a correction by writing to corrections@redoonews.com with the headline, the issue, and any supporting detail.

Opinion and analysis

Opinion pieces reflect the author’s view and are labeled clearly. Analysis pieces explain events or trends and are grounded in reporting and stated methods. Reviews are based on hands-on use or complete viewings and disclose access conditions such as screeners or review codes.

Conflicts of interest

Team members must disclose any financial or personal interests that could affect coverage. Reporters do not accept gifts, travel, or favors that may influence their work. If a potential conflict cannot be avoided, the assignment is moved to another editor or reporter, and a disclosure may be added for transparency.

Advertising and affiliate links

Advertising does not guide editorial decisions. If a guide or deals post includes affiliate links, that fact is disclosed inside the article. Our recommendations remain independent and are based on stated criteria.

Use of AI and automation

Stories, headlines, and edits are made by humans. We may use tools for transcription, formatting, translation checks, or data cleaning. No automated system can publish to the site without human review. We do not allow tools to invent facts or quotes.

Images, video, and graphics

We use original assets, licensed media, or material released for press use. Captions explain what is shown and credit the rightful owner when required. We do not manipulate imagery in a way that misleads the reader. Photo illustrations are labeled.

Embargoes and exclusives

We honor embargoes that we have agreed to. If a third party breaks an embargo, editors decide case by case how to proceed while maintaining fairness to readers and sources.

Social media standards

Reporters and editors may use personal accounts for professional work, but they must keep the same standards of accuracy, civility, and independence. We do not publish unverified rumors from social media as fact. Screenshots or embeds are used with context and verification.

Comments and community

We welcome civil discussion. Abusive language, harassment, and spam are removed. Repeat violations may result in a ban from commenting spaces we control.

Data and privacy

We collect only the information needed to run the site and improve performance. Details are provided in the Privacy Policy. Readers in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland can adjust choices using the Manage Consent link in the footer.

Accessibility

Our goal is a site that works for everyone. We use clear headings, readable typography, descriptive alt text, and captioning where available. If you encounter a barrier, write to accessibility@redoonews.com with the page link and a short description so we can fix it.

Takedown and legal requests

For copyright, defamation, or privacy concerns, email copyright@redoonews.com. Include the URLs, a description of the content, and your contact details. We review each request promptly and respond with next steps.
